Kennebec County dispensary begins treating patients
A new medical marijuana dispensary in Hallowell has begun seeing patients by appointment and will open full time by the end of January.
Wellness Connection of Maine, formerly known as Northeast Patients Group, is renovating a 2,400-square-foot dispensary on Water Street. The dispensary was scheduled to open in the fall, but has been delayed by the ongoing construction, according to the Kennebec Journal.
Executive Director Becky DeKeuster told the paper she didn't know exactly how many patients have already been treated. Patients must have a state-approved qualifying condition and a doctor’s recommendation to receive medical marijuana.
