Massachusetts investor rescues Maine business

A Massachusetts investor has saved a bankrupt business in Kittery that claims to be the country's oldest family-run grocery store.

Al D'Amico, of Saugus, Mass., recently bought Frisbee's Market and Cap'n Simeons Galley at a U.S. Bankruptcy Court auction after stopping there earlier this month and discovering the seafood restaurant had closed, the Associated Press reported.

D'Amico will rent the property to the Frisbee family, which had owned the waterfront business for 181 years until being forced into Chapter 7 liquidation due to a bad fire, the death of an owner and the sluggish economy, according to the Associated Press.
