The Maine Real Estate & Development Association will team up with Bangor Savings Bank to host a breakfast event that will address the impact of substance-use disorder and the unhoused population and how the issues affect commercial real estate.
Panelists will be Bob Montgomery-Rice, president of Bangor Savings Bank; Cara Pelletier, chair of Bangor City Council; Kevin Bunker of Developers Collaborative; and Jon Pottle, an attorney at Eaton Peabody who also represents the city of Brewer.
The moderator will be Bev Uhlenhake, managing broker at Maine Commercial Realty.
"Bangor is facing a pressing challenge — addressing the impact of substance use disorder and the unhoused population on commercial real estate. Our goal is to bring together a diverse range of perspectives to foster open and honest dialogue, compassion and innovative solutions," MEREDA said.
The discussion will be Tuesday, April 9, from 8-9:30 a.m., at Bangor Savings Bank, at 11 Hamlin Way in Bangor. Parking is available in the building's garage.
Tickets will be $25 for MEREDA members and $35 for all others. Prices go up $10 after April 2.
