New hires

Thomas College in Waterville hired Chelsea Moeller as vice president for advancement. Moeller most recently served as the director of donor engagement and capital projects for the Children’s Center.

The Maine Dental Association in Manchester hired Therese Cahill as executive director. Cahill previously served as director of the Office of Child and Family Services at the Maine Department of Health and Human Services.

Golden Pond Wealth Management in Waterville hired Chelsey Oliver as a relationship manager. Oliver was previously a math teacher at Messalonskee Middle School.

Maine Source Homes & Realty in Auburn hired Shannon White a sales agent and Realtor. Previously, White was administrator and backup inspector in the Section 8 Department of the Lewiston Housing Authority.

ID. +Collective, a commercial interior design-build firm in Portland, hired Madison Claghorn as an architectural interior designer. Claghorn was previously a remote interior design intern with the firm.

BroGue Insurance & Financial Services in Bangor hired Alyssa Connelly as a personal lines account manager.

The Maine Department of Economic & Community Development’s Office of Business Development hired Jake Daniele as small business development manager. Daniele was previously construction project financial manager for the Bureau of General Services, state of Maine.

Kennebec Savings Bank in Augusta hired Kris Avery as senior vice president and chief human resources officer. Avery was chief human resources officer and associate vice president at Saint Joseph’s College.

Atlantic Federal Credit Union in South Portland hired Jonathan Woodman as talent acquisition specialist.

Maine Behavioral Healthcare in South Portland hired Nadine Grosso as director of communications and public affairs. Grosso previously served as vice president and director of communications for the Maine Health Care Association.

Abbe Museum in Bar Harbor hired Betsy Richards as executive director and senior partner with Wabanaki Nations. Richards previously led the Opportunity Agenda’s national cultural strategy initiatives with artists, influencers and advocates to shift narrative, culture and policy towards greater economic and racial justice.

Promotions

Benchmark Construction in Westbrook promoted Jason Jendrasko to president. Jendrasko was previously vice president.

The Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCA of Greater Waterville at the Alfond Youth and Community Center promoted Katherine Harvey to director of philanthropy and government relations.

Appointments

Delta Dental Plan of Maine in Saco added Melissa Haidu-Sylvia to its board of directors for a three-year term. Haidu-Sylvia is a dentist and owner of New Leaf Dental PC in Topsham.

The Maine Real Estate & Development Association in Portland elected Craig Young as president of its board of directors. Young is partner and senior broker at the Boulos Co. The organization also announced its officers for 2022-23: Shannon Richards, Gary Vogel and Jennifer Small, vice presidents; Mark Stasium, treasurer; and Shelly Clark, secretary.

The Maine Bankers Association in Westbrook named Blaine Boudreau as chair of its board of directors for a one-year term. Boudreau is president and CEO of Partners Bank in Sanford.

Achievements

Norway Savings Bank announced that Brian Bernier earned his Certified Financial Planner certification from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. Bernier is vice president and investment officer for Norway Savings Asset Management Group in Portland.

Diversified Communications, an international media company in Portland, announced that Allie Keeley, digital marketing manager, Jess Woods, financial planning analysis manager, and Whit Mitchell, CFO, were the recipients of its “Chairperson’s 7 Cs Award” and that Brenda Stearns, customer service team manager, Matt Boucher, registration director, and Wynter Courmont, event director, where the organization’s “Governor’s Award” winners.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine in Westbrook was recognized as a “2021 Big Brothers Big Sisters of America Quality Award Winner.”

ServPro of Portland received a “Founder’s Platinum” award at the company’s 53rd annual convention held in Dallas, Texas.

Pierce Atwood, a law firm in Portland, said that its trusts and estates practice group in Maine received a “Band 1” ranking for Private Wealth Law by Chambers and Partners, a publisher of guides to the legal profession.

Wendy Byrd, an account manager on the benefits team at Allen Insurance and Financial in Camden, earned a Group Benefits Disability Specialist designation from The Hartford School of Insurance.

New England Cancer Specialists in Scarborough said it certified through the Association for Clinical Oncology’s Patient-Centered Cancer Care Certification pilot based on its adherence to oncology medical home standards, a single set of comprehensive, expert-backed standards for delivery of patient-centered care.

The emergency department at Maine Medical Center in Portland was one of only 29 departments in the U.S. to earn an Emergency Nurses Association “2022 Lantern Award” for demonstrating exceptional and innovative performance in leadership, practice, education, advocacy and research.
