MaineHealth in Portland hired Richard Bayman as CFO. Most recently, Bayman served as managing director of Cincinnati-based Fifth Third Bank’s Healthcare Investment Banking Group, where he led the Health Systems and Higher Education practice.

ReVision Energy, a solar installer in South Portland, hired Heather Deese as director of commercial sales.

Bar Harbor Bank & Trust hired Eliberta Cummings as assistant vice president, branch relationship manager in South China. Cummings was previously a loan manager at Capital Area Federal Credit Union.

The Maine Business School in Orono hired Jason Harkins as dean of the Graduate School of Business in Portland. Harkins also serves as executive dean of the Maine Business School.

LA Arts hired Courtney Reed-Marsh as arts agency administrator. Most recently, Reed-Marsh served as director of communications for the performing arts-focused startup incubator ARTech in New York City.

Hospice of Southern Maine in Scarbough announced several new hires. In its home hospice program Ashley Baker, Pam Barnickel and Mary Smith were hired as per diem registered nurses; Christina McLaury and Stacey Coleman as case managers; Hope Chrupcala and Kate Pontius as social workers; and Carrie Steinbrook as a hospice aide. At the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House, Alexandra Gamble was hired as a resource nurse; Lexi Santurri and Melanie Marcotte-Feinberg as per diem registered nurses; Anne Mills as a registered nurse; Tonianne Motta as a per diem nurse practitioner; Mikayla Whitehill as a hospice aide; and Stephanie Smith as a per diem hospice aide. Additionally, Patricia Brosseau was hired as a transitional care nurse in the Access Department.

Katahdin Trust in Houlton hired Thomas Dwyer as assistant vice president, commercial services officer in Bangor.

MaineHealth in Portland hired Charles Morris as chief medical officer of MaineHealth Maine Medical Center in Portland. Morris, a practicing primary care physician, is currently chief medical officer of Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass.

The Swanson Group, an accounting firm in Westbrook, hired Nathan Pike and Walter Kloc as tax managers and Lisa Ledue as senior tax manager.

Haley Ward Inc., an employee-owned professional engineering, architecture, environmental, planning, BIM, and surveying consulting firm in Bangor, announced several new hires. In Bangor, Amy Kearns was hired as finance director, Courtney Connolly as an accounting specialist in the Finance Department and Cade King as a survey technician in the Survey Service Line. In Portland, Ian Bernier was hired as an engineer in the Building Design Service Line and in Saco Christopher Veazie was hired as a senior project hydrogeologist in the firm’s Environmental Service Line.

Houses and Barns by John Libby, a custom home builder in Freeport, promoted Lee Proscia to president. Proscia has been leading operations at the company for the past seven years.

MaineHealth Franklin Hospital in Farmington hired Blake Hotchkiss as emergency department director.

Drummond Woodsum, a law firm in Portland, hired Darci Greenacre as a senior consultant in its government relations and campaigns practice group. Greenacre has 10 years of experience at the highest levels of government and federal campaigns.

MaineHealth in Portland promoted Erin Brown to vice president of advancement and chief development officer. Brown was associate vice president of philanthropy at MaineHealth Maine Medical Center.

R.M. Davis, a wealth management firm in Portland, promoted Beth Brown-Malia to assistant vice president, operations manager. Brown-Malia was previously operations manager.

Good Shepherd Food Bank of Maine in Auburn promoted Robin McCarthy to chief advancement officer. McCarthy joined the organization’s development and communications division in 2019.

Norway Savings Bank promoted Melissa Rock to senior vice president, marketing director; Jennifer Cook to executive vice president, head of trust and wealth management; and Rick Flagg to executive vice president, senior commercial banking officer. Rock was previously vice president, marketing director; Cook was senior vice president and senior trust and investment officer; and Flagg was senior vice president, senior commercial banking officer.

Portland Water District promoted Greg Pellerin to engineering and asset management services manager, Ryan Bourque to water system manager and Michelle Clements to director of communications and public relations. Pellerin was previously senior project engineer, Bourque was transmission and distribution supervisor and Clements was public relations manager.

Spinnaker Trust in Portland promoted Ainsley Gleason, Eben Jose and Laura Kate McHugh to principals. Gleason is senior vice president and COO with the firm; Jose is senior vice president, client advisor and director of private markets; and McHugh is senior vice president and client advisor.

Geiger, a promotional product distributor in Lewiston, promoted Chris McKee to executive vice president and chief revenue officer, Elizabeth Fagan to chief strategy officer and Vicky Kinasz to president of Geiger International. McKee was chief revenue officer, Fagan will also continue to serve as vice president of Crestline and Kinasz was vice president of Geiger International.

Haley Ward Inc., an employee-owned professional engineering, architecture, environmental, planning, BIM, and surveying consulting firm in Bangor, promoted Drew Greenlaw to project surveyor in the survey service line in Bangor; Sean Russell to project manager in the Building Design Service Line and Michael McCormick to scientist in the Environmental Service Line in Bangor; and Josh Maker to project surveyor in the Survey Service Line in Macias.

Appointments

The Maine Community Foundation in Ellsworth added Rose Barboza, Nathan Davis and Louisa Donelson to its Cumberland County Committee. Barboza is CEO of Black Owned Maine, Davis is director of programs at Gateway Community Services Maine and Donelson is an artist and coproducer of the Maine Outdoor Film Festival.

Piper Shores, a nonprofit retirement community in Scarborough, said that Philip Jean, CEO, was appointed vice chair of the Maine Health Care Association board of directors.

Thomas College in Waterville added Shelby Watson to its board of trustees. Watson is an account executive for J.S. McCarthy Packaging + Print.

The University of Maine at Augusta announced that President Jenifer Cushman was invited to join the Association of International Education Administrators Presidential Ambassadors Council.

Achievements

During its Showcase Maine event, the Finance Authority of Maine recognized Norway Savings Bank, Franklin Savings Bank and Camden National Bank as its “Lender at Work for Maine Award” winners.

The British Broadcasting Corp. announced that U.S. Sen. Susan Collins was selected for its 12th annual “100 Women” list. In addition, Collins was recognized as a “Congressional Champion” at the 2024 U.S. Global Leadership Coalition Tribute Dinner.

Thornton Academy in Saco was recognized as an “Apple Distinguished School” for inspiring, imagining and impacting teaching and learning through continuous innovation. The school has been honored every year since 2016.

KidsPeace, a social services nonprofit, was named a “2024 Culture Innovator” by Kudos, an employee recognition software provider, as part of its Best Culture Awards.

U.S. News & World Report designated Northern Light Mercy Hospital in Portland as a “high performing” hospital for maternity care on its Best Hospitals for Maternity Care list.

Moose Landing Marina in Naples was named “Best Small Marina” by Marina Dock Age Magazine.

Eastern Maine Development Corp. in Bangor named Commissioner Peter Baldacci as its “2024 Community Partner of the Year” for his decades of service and commitment to Penobscot County.

The Leapfrog Group recognized MaineHealth Maine Medical Center Portland as a “Top Teaching Hospital” and MaineHealth Pen Bay Hospital as a “Top Rural Hospital” on its list of Top Hospitals for quality and safety in 2024.

Rinck Advertising in Lewiston said it was honored with a “2024 Silver Davey Award” from the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts for its “Vape Free Maine: Don’t Get Side Effected” campaign, developed in partnership with the Maine CDC.

U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development named Kristina Cannon, president and CEO of Main Street Skowhegan, as a “Rural Innovator.” Cannon was one of 14 honored at a special White House event.

Sargent Corp., an employee-owned general contractor in Orono, received the “2024 Maine Governor’s Award for Business Excellence” award in the Rural Revitalization category.
