The Boulos Co., a Maine and New Hampshire commercial real estate firm headquartered in Portland, is getting its first female president when Jessica Estes takes the helm Oct. 1.
Estes joined Boulos in 2003 and has held several positions within the company.
She “has demonstrated a curiosity, professionalism, and expertise in every aspect of our business and its operations over her time here,” said Drew Sigfridson, who will be stepping down from a decade-long run as the firm’s managing director for Maine.
Under Sigfridson’s leadership, Boulos grew into northern New England’s largest commercial real estate firm, according to a news release.
He will continue to serve as managing director of the New Hampshire offices and will work on growing the operation in those markets, shifting his focus to business development and client services.
As part of the transition, Nate Stevens, a partner with the company, is taking over Estes’ former role as designated broker. Stevens joined Boulos in 2007.
Sigfridson said the leadership transition signals the company’s strong position in the market with the recruitment and retention of talent and expansion of the firm’s footprint.
“Our succession plan ensures long-term sustainability by continuing to evolve and facilitate individual growth for our talented people,” he said.
Of Estes, he said, “Jess has great ideas, excellent instincts and a vision for how she wants this company to grow in the future.”
The management team also includes Christopher Stephenson, vice president of operations and marketing, who will continue in his role.
Boulos was founded by Joseph Boulos in 1975. In January, it expanded its New Hampshire foothold with the addition of a brokerage team in Manchester, N.H.
The firm now has more than 35 team members in Portland, Portsmouth and Manchester.
