Condé Nast names Eventide Oyster one of the 'greatest restaurants'

The luxury and lifestyle travel magazine Condé Nast Traveler published its guide of the best restaurants in the world and Maine was represented by a single eatery: Eventide Oyster Co. in Portland.

According to Conde Nast Traveler, the eating guide was compiled through the publication’s network of chefs, globe-hopping travelers and food writers and is meant to provide vagabonds a trusty recommendation of where to eat in worldly locations including Berlin, Barcelona and Stockholm.

“The oyster bar of your dreams: briny half-shells most likely harvested that morning, note-perfect lobster rolls, a killer wine list and all sorts of unexpected treats on the daily menu,” wrote Peter Jon Lindberg, a contributor for the publication.

This is far from the first accolade the oyster bar has earned since its opening in 2012. Chefs Mike Wiley and Andrew Taylor were finalists in the 2016 James Beard award for the best chefs in the Northeast, and Eater.com, a popular food blog owned by the Vox Media digital media empire, named Eventide in its list of “America’s Essential Restaurants.”
