On Friday, Consigli Construction Co. and developer Reger Dasco Properties celebrated a topping-off ceremony to mark superstructure completion for phase one of Hobson’s Landing, a 196,000 square-foot development of residential and retail space being built in the historic Old Port neighborhood of Portland.
Construction of Hobson’s Landing began in November 2018 on the former site of the Rufus Deering Lumber Yard at 383 Commercial St. Consigli, Reger Dasco Properties, civil engineer firm Sebago Technics and Archetype Architects have also worked with the city of Portland to coordinate the installation of public utilities, traffic lane configuration, and sidewalk construction.
“We are proud of our role in the redevelopment of Portland’s historic neighborhoods and eager to join Reger Dasco Properties to celebrate this important milestone of the Hobson’s Landing project, the newest enriching development in the Old Port,” Tom Weeks, project executive at Consigli, said in a news release.
Hobson’s Landing, the latest example of Portland's urban resurgence, will link the West End, Old Port and waterfront areas of the city. Future residents will have views of the Fore River and Casco Bay, with luxury-style amenities such as concierge services, private decks, high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, as well as a state-of-the-art fitness center, community garden and private parking garage.
“The project is off to a great start,” Joseph Dasco of Reger Dasco Properties said in the release.
Town & Shore Realty is the real estate broker managing sales. This is the fourth project on which the firm has teamed with Reger Dasco. According to listing brokers Sandy Johnson and Gail Landry, presales to date are ahead of projections, with approximately 40% of the units under contract. Listings for available units can be found here.
Reger Dasco Properties, a developer partnership that has built high-end condos in Portland and other locations, purchased the 2.5-acre Rufus Deering property in November 2016.
