Hotel co. buys in capitol

A hotel company has acquired two Augusta hotels and plans to invest $1.5 million in the properties over the next several months.
Giri Hotels LLC, founded in 2006, purchased the Holiday Inn Civic Center and the Comfort Inn Civic Drive for an undisclosed price. The company, which is lead by Partner and CEO Ashish Sangani, owns the EconoLodge in Freeport and has an ownership share in three other hotels in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, according to a press release from the company.
The corporation was registered with the state in 2006. Its registered agent is based in Yarmouth.
