Taro Health, a health insurance provider that launched in Maine two years ago, has hired Chris Keeler as regional sales executive.
In this new role, Keeler will lead Taro’s offerings for Maine small businesses with two to 50 employees. He will work with business owners and support small group health insurance brokers.
Taro serves individuals, families and small businesses throughout southern and midcoast Maine.
Keeler will also help grow the insurer's partnerships and sponsorships with community organizations, including Partners for World Health, the Maine Association of Nonprofits, the Maine Outdoor Film Festival and the Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce.
“As we expand our reach in Maine, Chris will play an integral role in building deeper connections with the community,” said Jeff Yuan, co-founder of Taro Health.
“An increasing number of individuals, small business owners, and health care providers are discovering the unique model of comprehensive coverage we offer. Chris will be an integral part of our continued growth here.”
Prior to joining Taro, Keeler was the territory manager at Bob Dale Gloves and Imports, a manufacturer and supplier of personal protective equipment. He also worked at Hiram-based Grandy Organics.
The Cumberland resident and Massachusetts native received his bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from the Grossman School of Business at the University of Vermont.
