Kennebec Savings Bank has named its next vice president of marketing and communications officer, charged with overseeing marketing, communications and community giving initiatives.

Amanda Cooley joined the bank in 2018 as the corporate giving and community relations coordinator.

"The bank is experiencing exciting growth, and it is rewarding to be a part of the team that is working to strengthen our brand and connect people with the excellent products and services we offer," Cooley said.

Most recently, she served as assistant vice president and community engagement officer, overseeing the bank's community dividends program and volunteer efforts. Before her time at Kennebec Savings, Cooley held marketing, event planning and communications positions for Colby College and Husson University.

Cooley has two master's degrees, one in business administration and management and the second in human relations. She earned her Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in marketing from Husson University.

"Amanda's passion for strong messaging and communication, along with her exceptional organizational skills, makes her perfect for this role," said President and CEO Andrew Silsby. "Amanda clearly understands the importance of giving back to the community after managing the bank's community dividends program, where the bank dedicates 10% of its income to go back to the communities it serves."

Kennebec Savings Bank is a $1.6 billion community bank with a team of 200 employees and offices in Augusta, Farmingdale, Freeport, Waterville and Winthrop. There are plans for a branch in Portland, at 53 Baxter Blvd, as the bank announced in November. An opening date for the Portland site has not been set, Silsby told Mainebiz this week.

Kennebec Savings was ranked No. 10 on a list of Maine-based banks in the 2023 Mainebiz Book of Lists, ranked by Maine deposits as of June 30, 2022.
