New hires

Jeannine Diddle Uzzi will succeed Laurie Lachance as president of Thomas College.

Thomas College in Waterville Jeannine Diddle Uzzi as president. Uzzi was vice president of academic Affairs at Adler University in Chicago.

Taro Health, a health insurance provider, hired Chris Keeler as regional sales executive. Previously, Keeler was the territory manager at Bob Dale Gloves and Imports, a manufacturer and supplier of personal protective equipment.

WinterKids, a nonprofit in Westbrook dedicated to helping children develop healthy lifelong habits through outdoor winter activities, hired Courtney Holub as executive director. Holub most recently served as a philanthropy advisor for Good Shepherd Food Bank.

Northern Light Cancer Care in Brewer hired Erdem Altunel, Dawn Brooks and Kamal Sahu as oncologists. Altunel treats solid tumors and both malignant and benign blood disorders and has a special interest in gastrointestinal and colorectal cancers; Brooks has a special interest in breast and lung cancer; and Sahu treats patients with solid tumors, as well as benign and malignant blood disorders and has a special interest in genitourinary malignancies, or cancers of the urinary system and reproductive organs.

Bangor Savings Bank hired Bob Williams as senior vice president and controller.

The County Federal Credit Union in Caribou hired Tony Lahey as CFO. Lahey was previously senior accountant at MMG Insurance Co.

MaineHealth in Portland hired Dr. Adrian Moran as chief medical and transformation officer. Moran, who is a board-certified pediatric and adult congenital cardiologist with advanced imaging expertise, was chief medical officer at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisc.

Promotions

Sebago Technics, an engineering collective in South Portland, promoted Caitlyn Abbott to director of growth opportunities, Nikki Conant to director of project delivery and Kendra Ramsell to project manager.

Baker Newman Noyes, an accounting and advisory firm in Portland, announced several promotions. In its tax practice, Joseph Begin, Steven Powers, Remy Schneider and Connor Smart were promoted to senior managers; Derek McDonough, Ben McLaughlin and Anna Peaslee to managers; Gus Bradley and Kyle Lonabaugh to supervising seniors; Brenda Fancy to team lead; and Kathryn Johnson and John Vedral to seniors. In its marketing department, Alexandra Brophy was promoted to senior manager and Jessica Rousseau to talent acquisition manager in the HR department. In its assurance practice, Jessica Dillon was promoted to manager; Stacy Kirk to reports manager; Michael Trahan to senior manager; Brooke Gibbons, Emma Houston and Mason Morin to seniors; and Meredith Wicks to audit supervisor.

Zachau Construction in Freeport promoted Maggie Brescia to project engineer, Santo Carter to senior project manager, Finn Hadlock to project manager, Ben Hilfrank to assistant project manager and Andrew Veilleux to foreman.

Appointments

Spurwink, a nonprofit in Portland that provides a broad range of behavioral health care, substance use disorder services and support services for people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, and their families, added Amanda Karomba to its board of directors. Karomba is CEO of Happy Haven, which provides direct support to Maine adults with intellectual disabilities.

Achievements

Piper Shores, a nonprofit life plan retirement community in Scarborough, said it received reaccreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.

Town & Country Federal Credit Union in Scarborough announced it took top honors as “Best Credit Union” in the annual “Best of Portland” competition. The credit union has two locations in Portland.

Northeast Bank in Portland announced it has been named a “Top 20 Best Performing Bank” with assets between $2 billion and $10 billion by industry-publication American Banker. The bank ranked seventh out of the 20 banks listed for 2024.

Morgan Stanley said that Iain Eldredge, a first vice president, portfolio management direct, financial advisor in the firm’s Portland Wealth Management office, was named to Forbes Magazine’s list of “Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors Best-In-State.”
