State officials continue to assess damage in Maine from Hurricane Sandy, which knocked out power for an estimated 85,000 customers across the state.
By 10:30 a.m., The Associated Press reported, 78,000 customers remained without power according to reports from Central Maine Power and Bangor Hydro Electric Co.
The Kennebec Journal reported that there are no known injuries or deaths in Maine associated with the hurricane, which brought reports of winds up to 76 mph at a weather station in Bath.
Amtrak's Downeaster service remains canceled through the day and service from the Portland Jetport is expected to be back on schedule starting at 11:25 a.m. today.
Anne-Marie Brett, deputy director of the Cumberland County Emergency Management Agency, told the paper that her agency had received no major reports of damage overnight.
Emergency management officials were scheduled to hold a conference call at 9 a.m. to assess the damage statewide.
