Skowhegan bank acquires Jackman branch

Skowhegan Savings Bank has signed an agreement to acquire Border Trust's branch office in Jackman.

Earle Harvey, president and CEO of Augusta-based Border Trust, said the deal will allow the bank to focus more on its central and midcoast markets, according to a press release from Skowhegan Savings. Border Trust has offices in Topsham, Augusta and South China. The Jackman office will be added to Skowhegan Savings' existing nine branches in locations including Belgrade, Fairfield and Pittsfield.

The deal is expected to close by September pending regulatory approval, according to the release.
