If like me you almost forgot Thanksgiving is next week, and are now wondering where to find a last-minute Thanksgiving meal, don't worry. Your friend, the Friday Food Insider, has your back this holiday season.

Restaurants, grocery stores and bakeries are still taking orders for Thanksgiving dinner next Thursday. From pies to sides to the turkey, here's a list of where to find fixings for this year's feast.

Where to find a turkey

  • Rosemont Market, which has locations in Scarborough, Cape Elizabeth, Yarmouth, Freeport and Portland, is taking turkey orders. The ordered turkeys will be available for store pickup on Nov. 26-27. There is a non-refundable $35 deposit on all orders, and the remaining cost will be based on total weight and charged upon pickup.
  • Whole Foods in Portland is taking orders through Nov. 26. The supermarket says you can order an effortless Thanksgiving feast of platters, mains, sides and desserts — then pick up your order by Nov.28. If you’re looking for an easy turkey dinner, this one only requires reheating.
  • Pat’s Meat Market in Portland is taking orders for turkeys, ham, duck, pork, and other meats. The store will also have brine kits and turkey stocks available.
  • Orchard Ridge Farm in Gorham is taking orders for Maine-raised ham and farm-fresh turkey. A $30 deposit is required for all preorders.
  • Ore Nell’s BBQ in Biddeford is taking orders for a full Thanksgiving dinner that feeds six to eight people.
  • Barn & Table Catering in Camden is taking orders for whole-brined turkeys, which are trussed and ready to roast with herb butter. The caterer will also have fully cooked spatchcocked turkeys.

Where to find pies and sides

  • Twelve is hosting its second annual Thanksgiving pie pick-up. Pies can be picked up at Twelve in Portland at 115 Thames St. and The Good Table in Cape Elizabeth at 527 Ocean House Road. The restaurant will offer three different pies for $57 and Parker House rolls for $11. Pickup is available on Nov. 26-27 from noon to 3 p.m.
  • Two Fat Cats, with Portland locations on Lancaster Street and Spring Street, will offer preorder holiday items like breads, biscuits, cookies, various pies and cakes. The bakery will offer pickup on Nov. 26-27, and limited items and quantities will be available for walk-ins. First come, first served.
  • Standard Baking Co. in Portland is taking orders for a wide assortment of breads and baked goods. Pre-orders can be picked up on Nov. 27 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Terlingua is offering a Thanksgiving dinner for eight for preorder. The restaurant will also have an apple crisp dessert, macaroni and cheese, sangria, and margarita growlers.
  • Rosemont Market will also offer various pies, from the classic apple and pumpkin to a bourbon pecan.
  • Finest Kind in Saco is taking preorders for four different pies, including caramel pumpkin, wild Maine blueberry, brown butter apple and a chocolate pecan pie. The restaurant will also offer a baker's half dozen of honey wheat rolls or garlic butter brioche rolls.
  • Sweets & Co., also in Saco, offers a selection of gluten-free baked goods, including dinner rolls, pecan, pumpkin and apple pie.
  • Tinder Hearth, a wood-fired bread shop in Brooksville, is taking orders for various breads, scones, and croissants until Nov. 24 at 9 a.m.
  • Scratch Baking in South Portland is taking orders for various desserts and breads, including its deep-south cake, pumpkin bombe, quiche baguette, dinner rolls and four types of pies.

Thanksgiving must-sees

As you prepare for the day of feasting, here are some Thanksgiving shows and movies to keep you entertained.

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, which first took place in November 1924, will march through Manhattan from 8:30 a.m. to noon.

"A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving" is a fun cartoon about a not-so-classic Thanksgiving dinner. With the help of his friend Linus and his trusty dog Snoopy, Charlie must make a last-minute dinner for his friends. But the dinner may not resemble yours — unless you're serving popcorn, toast and jellybeans.

If you're a fan of John Candy or Steve Martin, "Planes, Trains, and Automobiles" is a must-watch. The film follows two mismatched travelers who find themselves on a chaotic journey home for Thanksgiving.

Due to the holiday, there won’t be a Friday Food Insider next week. I will see you all in December for more food and special holiday stories.
