Norway Savings Bank has promoted three employees to its senior leadership team.
All three promotions will take effect on Jan. 1.
Melissa Rock of Bridgton has been promoted to senior vice president, marketing director. In her new position, she will oversee the marketing team and functions.
She joined the bank in 2017 as vice president and marketing communications officer. In her new role, she will oversee the bank’s marketing and brand strategies. Rock will work closely with Karen Hakala, the senior marketing officer, as Hakala prepares for retirement in 2025 after a 28-year career with the bank.
Rock's prior experience includes corporate communications, client experience and community impact. She also led the bank’s digital delivery team for five years. Rock is a certified financial marketing professional recently graduated from the New England School of Financial Studies.
Jennifer Cook of North Yarmouth has been promoted to executive vice president and head of trust and wealth management. She began her career at Norway Savings Bank in 2005 as a vice president and trust officer in the asset management group and was promoted to senior vice president and senior trust and investment officer in 2015.
Cook received her bachelor’s degree in marketing from the University of Maine. Cook has been chair of the Maine Bankers Trust Committee for several years.
Outside the bank, Cook is active in the community. She is a past board member of the Alzheimer's Association of Maine, a former chair and current board member of 75 State Street and a member of the Maine Estate Planning Council.
Rick Flagg of Scarborough has been promoted to executive vice president, senior commercial banking officer.
Flagg joined Norway Savings Bank in 2001 as vice president and commercial lender and, in 2009, was promoted to regional vice president and team Leader, overseeing the bank's commercial lending team. In 2020, Flagg was promoted to senior vice president and senior commercial banking officer.
In 2018, he graduated from the prestigious Graduate School of Banking at Colorado, one of the nation's premier banking schools. Flagg has served on many bank initiatives and as a mentor in the GROW program. He also serves on MEREDA's board of directors.
Flagg received his bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Maine.

Norway Savings Bank has 24 branches. It was ranked No. 7 among the largest Maine-based banks, based on assets of $1.83 billion on June 30, 2023, according to the 2024 Mainebiz Book of Lists.
